There has been so much written about Peacock feathers as to whether they are bad luck or good luck.  See the post from our Voodoo Rooms photoshoot for our thoughts.  Plus there are some really good pics there too.

If you are the kind of girl who would wear Loretta on your big day, I would say that there is very little chance that a few superstitions are going to put you off.  We would suggest however that you do not have your wedding ceremony anywhere close to a Zoo or Safari Park.  That might just be asking for trouble.

Lilian, our Art Deco coat steps back in time – The Dome, Edinburgh, images by Archibald Photography.

There are few of our designs that we enjoy making as much as our Art Deco coat, Lilian.  Luxurious in the extreme, and perfect for a chilly winter wedding, we can easily picture Lilian gracing the recent Hollywood set of ‘The Great Gatsby’.

Made from sumptuous silk backed velvet, and lined with pure silk satin, you might find that you do not want to take Lilian off.   The cuffs and hem are lavishly embroidered in striking silver and adorned with AB crystals, and the wonderful collar is made from soft and delicate ostrich feathers.

The pictures in this post were taken when we organised a quick photoshoot at the very impressive ‘Dome‘ in the centre of Edinburgh.  If you are looking for a really classy city centre venue then check this place out.

Chic 1950s Retro Wedding Dress photoshoot by Archibald Photography

Always on the hunt for a great photoshoot location, we came across The Dome while looking for a venue which would be perfect for our Manhattan Collection of retro wedding dresses.  Set in the heart of Edinburgh, The Dome was originally the site of the old Physicians Hall, and is a beautiful building retaining many period features.  Built in 1775,  we felt it would compliment the dresses, and offer us the backdrop we were looking for.  And the beauty was it was less than an hour away from the studio, not the ‘norm’ for our photoshoots.

At the time we had just added Joan to the collection and we needed a few images for the website, so along with our photographer Mark Archibald, we set off before dawn in order to be there before they opened to the public.  For once we had a lovely sunny morning and we even managed to get a few images outside.
