Gloria, an Art Deco inspired wedding dress photographed in ‘House For An Art Lover’, Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s award winning house, images by Archibald Photography.

When two artistic of fashion styles clash then the results can be somewhat ‘unfortunate’. Not when our 1920s Art Deco inspired ‘Gloria‘ had a day out at Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s wonderful Art Nouveau style ‘House for an Art Lover’.

In fact the images from the shoot that day were so good that our photographer Mark, from Archibald Photography was awarded a Gold Award at the SWPP’s monthly competition. The award winning image can be seen on our post, ‘Mary at the House for an Art Lover‘, so don’t miss having a quick look.

However, the ones featuring Gloria were pretty good too, I’m sure you will agree. Made from beautiful sandwashed silk crepe, Gloria, has a two inch band of iridescent embroidery embellished with sequins and beads, around a low slung hipline, and around the neckline and shoulder straps. The skirt has a long train and is overlaid with two layers of chiffon giving an undulating edge, adorned at the front point with a drop crystal.
