Kim – Turning Back the Clock on a Fifties Wedding Dress
Fifties Wedding Dress photoshoot by Archibald Photography
There is something special about black and white photography. If we strip away all the colour from the image then it can easily become bland, boring, unexciting. However when taken in black and white, some images suddenly take on a new life: suddenly we pay close attention to composition, to the lighting, and to the subject matter. In November 2011 we visited ‘Sera’s House‘, close to the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. Our photographer Mark Archibald, had promised us some exquisite images from the photoshoot, and true to his word, we came away with some beautiful shots. An added bonus to the fantastic ‘full colour’ images Mark produced on the day, were a number of classic black and white shots.
In this post we can see just how stunning a black and white image can be, as Mark gives Kim from our Manhattan Collection a Kodachrome make-over.
